U12 and U13  Division 1 – 40 Over Competition Trials (U14 Cancelled)

For the 2019/20 season the club has decided to implement some changes to the under 12, 13 and 14 competitive divisions. The competitive divisions include the Under 12 and 13 Division 1 – 40 Over competitions, which are played over 2 consecutive weekends. Note that this new format has replaced the Division 1 – 30 Over Competition that was played last season.    Historically, we have found that friendship teams have struggled to be competitive in the higher divisions, so this year, like other Clubs within our Association, we have decided to implement trials for the Under 12 and 13 Division 1 teams.  Depending on the number of kids wanting to play in the Division 1 competitions we may recommend entering 2 teams in each competition.

The North Shore Junior Cricket Association (NSJCA) requires teams that play in the Division 1 competitions to be competitive and if after the initial competition rounds a team is assessed by the NSJCA to be “not Division 1 standard” they will be moved to one of the Division 2 – 20 Over competitions.

The selection process will be run by our Senior Club, creating an arms-length approach in the selection of players 12 players will be selected for each team.

Note that in 2019/20 the Under 13 Division 1 – 40 Over competition will be played on a Saturday afternoon rather than Sunday morning due to clashes with Representative cricket which is played on a Sunday.
